Abraham Herrera is a first-generation Guatemalan-American director, writer, mixed-media artist, photographer and animator hailing from Los Angeles, CA. His work explores introverted characters with large imaginations in search of friendship, love, or making their dreams come true and often incorporates the use of objects that define us and reflect our identity, such as dolls, trinkets, and oddities. He loves working within both live-action and stop-motion and is attracted to crafty hand-made qualities.
He is currently working on his next short film, ACCESSORIES, as well as developing a couple of feature screenplays.
His work has screened across festivals around the world such as Motovun Film Festival, Uppsala Kortfilmfestival, Tampere Film Festival, among others.
Abraham is the co-founder of Playground, a production company that aims to playfully explore stories with strong visual language, diverse perspectives, and support filmmakers who have an innovative imagination.
